The Club

A real tennis court built in 1905 for Charles Tuller Garland by Joseph Bickley, and kept alive by its members ever since.

About the club

Moreton Morrell Tennis Court Club

The tennis court was built in 1905 by master tennis court builder Joseph Bickley for wealthy American Charles Tuller Garland, as part of Moreton Hall (now part of Mid-Warwickshire College), whose entrance gates face those of the Court.

In 1963 the Moreton Morrell Tennis Court Company was formed, with the generous help of many supporters of tennis including Mr. Garland's three daughters, to acquire the building and grounds. In 2020 the club became a Ltd Company and registered as a charity.

The Garland crest features on the club badge, and the club takes its red and gold colours from the "or and gules" of the Garland family coat of arms.
